Work performed by Water & Gas Plumbing Ltd. Hot Water Now is its specialist hot-water service for Lower Hutt. This case study describes that repair; it does not imply the original enquiry came through this website.
What the technician found
The technician found corrosion at a 20mm isolation-valve connection and a worn washer in the existing 20mm swivel elbow. The leak was at the connected fittings; this attendance did not record replacement of the cylinder tank.
The repair and checks recorded
The work entry records fitting a new 20mm polybutylene swivel elbow and a new 20mm male/female brass fitting. The technician then turned the water and power back on. The photograph below shows the assembled connection with the replacement fittings in place.
The record does not provide pressure readings or a timed leak-test result, so those are not claimed here. The documented repair scope is the cold-water connection, not a replacement cylinder or a guarantee about every other component.
